Our Natural Brown Dyed mulch is made from all natural hardwood logs and wood chips. We process this material two times through our tub grinder, then use a no toxic dye to enhance the natural brown color of the mulch. Since this mulch is made from natural wood it will break down and become an amendment to the soil just as the other mulches do. This mulch has a medium texture to it, and its color will last about a year.

I loved working with Midwest Compost and would 10/10 recommend to a friend! You can schedule online- even after hours for the next day, they always show up during the delivery window, and you can call or text to confirm orders.
I built 4 raised garden beds and worked over all of the landscaping at my place. It’s a corner lot, so there was quite a bit to do.
I filled the beds with half compost and half garden mix. They were happy to combine the compost and garden mix for me before delivery. This saved a TON of time on my part. The compost was well aged and high quality. I got brown-dyed mulch in two deliveries about 2 months apart and the color match was spot on.
The bulk prices are great! If you need at least a cubic yard of ANYTHING call these folks. Compared to the price of bagged dirt at a home big box store, I easily saved over $250 and that’s after the delivery fee. Not sure how much you need? Their calculator on the website is super handy and makes the Engineer in me smile.

This is our second time ordering with you and the second time your delivery widow is more of a suggestion than promise. We had the 7 to 10 am window scheduled and I had to call at 10:30 to inquire where the delivery was. I had taken the day off of work to work with this mulch and for the second time (remember I ordered from you before) I heard that the other truck was down. My mulch was delivered finally after 5:30 pm with no call from the driver to meet with him. He just dumped the pile and left. Additionally we were told twice the driver would be able to take our scrap wood to find out suddenly on the day of the delivery that that was not happening by Christy after I called in to find out where the delivery was. This was after we had it moved and prepared to be loaded on our driveway and the operator said “Great!” when I called in. I would have given 4 stars but the whole interaction left a poor experience.
